Re: Brexit - The Movie
Surely if we went down the Norway, Switzerland route we could accept the free movement but not provide benefits or any housing ie sort yourself out if you want to live here. That would take a lot of the incentive to move here away.

I'll ask again...

Has anyone watched this and had their position shifted by the video?

Excellent post - thank you.
Don't vote until you've watched this ...

Eerie

I think some perspective is needed. The fact is no one knows what's going to happen if we leave, the economy COULD take a dive for the worst, on the other hand it might not make much difference at all, some undecideds may well weigh up the pros and cons and think risking that uncertainty is simply not worth the risk or bother, especially if they work in an industry that has recently suffered difficult times as many have, who would blame them for that?

'Switzerland, Norway, end of story. '
As part of the free trade agreement with the EU both of these countries have to allow for free access for EU citizens.
I have worked in Norway, no visa required, no immigration checks other than showing EU passport.

Re: Brexit - The Movie
Big H, people are scared stiff of change, it's just the way it is, sadly. And as I say, you won't hear them too loudly until they're votes are in.

Switzerland, Norway, end of story.

Re: Brexit - The Movie
By the way Cholo, if our cars were so shit, why did everyone else want to buy them - Mini & Rolls Royce now owned by BMW, Bentley owned by VW, Land Rover & Jaguar now owned by Tata - nothing shite about those car manufacturers just they are not British anymore you fucking clown

Don't get me wrong, we had the odd decent mass production car and some excellent marquee brands. But our mass production cars were on the whole a fucking joke, we were still selling the Austin Allegro Vanden Plas, basically your grandma's dining room on wheels but with less handling ability, long after VW had made the brilliant golf gti. British Leyland's idea of innovation was to put a square steering wheel on the Morris Marina.

You can point the finger at Europe all you like but the fact is we are the reason we have no car industry left, we fucked that particular one up for ourselves.

Eerie...I don't get these people who always back up their remain vote with the phrase 'better the devil you know'

Is it just me or is that a major fucking cop out?! and surely....how well do they really know what happens if we stay in, say few years down the line and so on?!

Apparently so, if the Scottish referendum was anything to go by.

Just watch and learn from me.

Re: Brexit - The Movie
Trust me, there is no way the majority will vote out, I fucking wish we would, but there is no chance. As I say, those for change make the most noise, when it comes to it, the majority will be too scared of change. I called exactly the same with the Scottish referendum.

Re: Brexit - The Movie
I think a lot of people want to to leave, as long as they can be arsed to go and vote then it could happen.
Still think it will be a stitch up though.

I think you will be very surprised, there are too many good reasons to come out than to stay in, I too will be voting to come out as I want my country back please!

Re: Brexit - The Movie
It's frightening to think that people genuinely believe we wouldn't be able to keep our heads above water if we left. Switzerland and Norway, end of fucking story.

There is absolutely no way we'll vote out though. It'll be exactly the same with Scotland, the main voices you hear are those wanting change, but when it comes to it, most will shit themselves at the thought of change. Won't be close by the end.

I'll still be voting out though.

Is it just confirming what you already feel and so the argument feels stronger?

Germany have all those great car manufacturers and we have none because our cars were a load of fucking shite, nothing to do with the e.u to be fair.

Re: Brexit - The Movie
Just had the opportunity to view. Not only is it informative and put together in an easily digestable way, but it's also quite enjoyable because of this.

Me, I came away enthused about what the future could hold for this great country.

I like Michael Howard comments...we need to give ourselves more credit, have confidence. We've done it countless times before.

Spot on, if Switzerland can do it with Cuckoo Clocks, watches and Chocolate thence can can do it for sure.

It irritates me that Germany have VW, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche and Audi and our once great car manufacturing industry is left in tatters. Even the great British mini is now owned by BMW and the French have Citroen, Renault and Peugeot for christ sake.................

I am all for coming out and rebuilding.

Watched this a while ago, definitely worth a watch, and no mention of border control.

Watched this yesterday...

Re: Brexit - The Movie
Great watch.

The fact we would have no say or power over any rules, or how are taxes are spent finishes it off for me.

However, I do have a sneaky suspicion this will be RIGGED. And we'll end up staying in regardless if more votes are for us to leave.
